Hi and thanks for stopping by! My name is Lori Reeder and Moments Photography is a culmination of my hopes, dreams and lots of hard work. I started photographing weddings and practicing portrait work with my niece and nephew when I was still in high school. Let's just say that was a few years ago shall we? My life long dream was to have a studio of my own. In 1998, I did just that in a spare room of my home. But with Ed (the husband), Jacob (the pre-teen son), Tigger (the cat who wanted to visit with each customer), Skipper (the dog who loved to have company), the constant ring of the phone (mostly for the pre-teen son) and various other distractions ("Mom, I think there's something wrong with the sink!") it was just way too complicated. In February of 1999 a friend of mine opened a flower shop just off the square in Charlestown. She called to tell me of a "perfect" studio spot right next door. Realizing that if I was ever going to succeed with my goals, I was going to have to take the plunge. By the end of April we had a Grand Opening to celebrate. The only problem was, the area was too small, and to do full length portraits, I had to open the adjoining door to the flower shop and shoot from in there. Hey, but it worked! By the end of my lease, I was ready to find something a bit bigger. So I moved to my present location just up the street on the "square", across from the gazebo in Charlestown. The studio area is wonderful, with enough room to shoot in four directions. As you can probably tell, I am a pretty friendly person and really enjoy what I do. That puts my customers at ease. I try to make it a fun event for every customer - from babies, to brides, to cute kids, to families, to couples (you get the idea). Weddings are always fun for me. I have an easygoing attitude and believe that it is your wedding, so you should get what YOU want not what I want. At the same time, I can pull groups together like a drill sergeant if I have to. I keep it quick, simple, and fun. I am a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, Professional Photographers of America, Children's Photographers International and I am the President of the Professional Photography Association of Greater Louisville. I have also earned the title of Certified Child Portrait Specialist! Because of the years I spent working at Home of the Innocents, I have become very comfortable with special needs children. I understand how hard it is for parents to get wonderful photos of these extraordinary children. For the last several years, I have been doing all of the portraits of the medically fragile children at the Home. If you have a special needs child, I would love to have you visit our studio. You'll be glad you did! If you like what you see and hear (or would it be read?), give me a call. I would love to talk to you about your special portraits. We also do boudoir portraiture, special events (like proms, company parties, etc.) and Portrait Parties. My number at the studio is 812/256-5614. If I'm not available when you call, please leave a message and I will call you back. I look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes, Lori |
